Privacy Policy
What this site collects, and why
Very little, and nothing sold or shared. Last updated October 2026.
Who is responsible
Pritibha Singh, Basel, Switzerland. For anything about your data, use the contact form and I will reply myself.
If you contact me or share a story
When you send the contact form or the story form, this website passes what you entered to me as an email, using the Contact Form 7 plugin. The email is sent from the website’s server through its host, GoDaddy, to my inbox, which is provided by Google. The website does not keep a copy of your message in its database.
I use what you send only to reply to you, or with your explicit permission to feature your story. If we do not end up working together, I delete your message.
If you sign up for emails
When you sign up for updates, I store your first name, your email address, what you signed up for, and when. You then receive one email asking you to confirm. Nothing further is sent unless you confirm.
I also record whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, so I can tell which material is useful and send less of what is not.
The basis for this is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, and your address is then no longer emailed. These records are held in this website’s own database, using the MailPoet plugin, on servers provided by the site’s host, GoDaddy. They are not sold, rented or shared with anyone.
Visitor statistics
To see which pages are read, the site counts page views and the website a visitor arrived from, using the Koko Analytics plugin. To count each visitor once a day, it calculates a one-way code from the visitor’s IP address, browser details and a secret value that changes every day; the code and the list of pages viewed are deleted every night, and your IP address itself is not stored. It runs on this site’s own server, sets no cookies, and sends nothing to any third party.
Technical services the site relies on
The site is hosted by GoDaddy, whose servers keep standard technical logs. Website fonts are hosted locally.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Use the contact form. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or to the data protection authority where you live.
